Large parts of Melody Mania have been made open source on 3rth July . You can find it on GitHub in its sister project UltraStar Play. Big thanks to Andreas for all the work.
We invite developers and enthusiasts to contribute and help us create the ultimate karaoke experience. You can now track issues, submit bug reports, and propose new features all in one place.

The open music games scene made some progress in the last two months. First of all we got various improvements of tools and games. USDB Syncer 0.5 was released with a better interface and YASS Reloaded Song Editor v2024.2 now fully features UltraStar Song Format v1.1.0. Performous v1.3.1 is out and fixed some bugs. The new Vocaluxe nightly build from Feb 13 2024 on the contrary has a complete new graphic design. Melody Mania Companion app was approved in apple store and there are also some chances that UltraStar Play gets its mergeback from Melody Mania in spring.
On the otherside Open Music Games Organization build up a shared youtube channel and released a minimal introduction video for all free singing games. Moreover we added two basic official gameplay demo videos for Performous and Vocaluxe on youtube that everybody may use as reference. Also good to know: Our FAQ was improved and adresses some basic song licensing questions.
And finally, sadly, there will be no rewrite of usdb.animux.de as it was claimed by admin Alex in october 2023. Please check out the recently added "status quo textfile hosting" section for a complete overview of current hostings.

Official UltraStar Song Format v1.1.0 was released for developers on 1th Dec 2023. Implementation is in 2024 for nearly all games and tools. Versions 0.1.0, 0.2.0, 0.3.0, 1.0.0 were defined in retrospective too.

OPEN MUSIC GAMES is the central website for all of us. It's a umbrella brand. Think of it as a plattform and central info hub. Goal is to make everything easier for developers and players.

Finally, UltraStar Creators Community evolves. All the driving forces of UltraStar Play, Melody Mania and UltraStar Deluxe connected the last two month with the heads and people from Vocaluxe and Performous for co-operation. It's about finding common solutions but still having unique games.
Thus the leads changed Name and Logo of the Community Discord Server to show this co-working spirit. The creators of original UltraStar and UltraStar World Party declined the invitation.
The admin team categorized all channels by target group: "For Players" "For Song Creators" and "For Developers". Thus it's easier to get orientation. They also added a lot of info channels "For Everyone".

In the first time of UltraStar Deluxe history, we start to standardize and versionize the UltraStar Song Format. This will reduce confusion and errors. Plus we can introduce new features. Check out our Song Format Website (for developers and interested players).
